After a successful Paris Fashion Week, @Jacquemus announced the launch of a new beauty line, officiating by signing a deal with L’Oréal and getting a minority investment. Before their deal with Jacquemus L’Oréal also acquired Miu Miu’s beauty rights, further expanding its luxury beauty portfolio. Though they stated that they have no intention of expanding Jacquemus’ capital and owning the brand and intend to keep Mugler as the only high fashion company they own. But does the world need another high-fashion beauty line, or is this just another name in an oversaturated market? One thing is for sure that revenues are guaranteed.

Luxury beauty is big business. According to the statistics in 2023, LVMH’s Perfumes & Cosmetics (Givenchy, Dior and Guerlain) division brought in €8 billion, Hermès Beauty generated €511 million, and Prada Group reported €3.8 billion in revenue across all segments. Puig (Carolina Herrera, JPG and Dries Van Noten) made €4.3 billion in 2023, and Estée Lauder (which owns Tom Ford Beauty) earned €15.1 billion. The numbers speak for themselves, beauty is a crucial revenue stream for luxury brands.

But beyond profit, beauty lines make high fashion accessible. While a designer bag costs thousands, a €50 lipstick or €150 fragrance lets consumers own a piece of luxury. Beauty expands brand reach, builds loyalty, and introduces a more diverse crowd to high fashion.
